Typically for Halloween I like to make the kids’ costumes or add something to them but we just ran short on time and the kids both wanted to be something that made more sense to just buy a costume then try and make. Jaelee was Cinderella of course and Jayse was spiderman. I did a quick photo shoot with them the day before Halloween because I knew Halloween would be busy and I wanted to make sure and get some good photos.
I picked them up early from daycare and took them to my work for desk or treat. 2 girls from work and I dressed up – I was a New York Housewife LOL. The kids love going to my work for desk or treat, they get so much candy and love running around.
After desk or treating we went home to get ready for trick or treating. Jayse didn’t want to wear his mask so I painted a spiderman mask on him. My friend and her family came over to go trick or treating with us.
Trick or treating this year was by far my favorite so far. The kids were so excited. The weather was perfect. It wasn’t cold at all so the kids didn’t need to wear their jackets and cover their costumes. Jaelee would run from the house after getting her treat screaming and running down the drive way she was so excited. Jayse did really well and was not as shy as he has been. There were times we could even hear him talking to the people handing out candy.
We made it around our block and were headed down another one in our subdivision when the kids started to get tired. They were complaining their legs were hurting and their bags were too heavy to carry. We hurried back home changed our clothes and handed out candy. The kids even liked that part, they were the first ones to grab the candy bowl and answer the door.
Halloween is my favorite holiday and Halloween this year did not disappoint, it was my favorite to date!
