We’ve decided that every month we are going to take a hike somewhere new. For March we didn’t want to have to drive too far so I picked table rock. I hadn’t ever been there and thought it would be a pretty easy hike for me and the kids. We started by the golf course and set out. The first part of it wasn’t too bad, the kids were running ahead of us and having a real good time. We stopped along the way for them to climb on rocks.
We got to what we thought was the top and I thought hey that wasn’t bad. We had a beautiful view of the Boise valley and I wasn’t too tired. As I was looking around I saw that we had actually only made it about 1/3 of the way. We had a bit of a walk through flat ground before we got to the part of the trail that basically just went straight up. By the time we got to the part of the trail that went up the kids were so tired and didn’t want to continue. I was pretty much done for too, I was exhausted but since I had made it this far I didn’t want to quit and not finish so I told Greg him and the kids could stay there and hang out but I wanted to finish. He looked at me and said but if you finish I want to too so I literally had to hold the kids hands and drag them the rest of the way up. They were so tired and poor Jaelee’s feet were hurting her. When we finally made it to the top we rested for a bit, ate some fiber bars and turned around and made our way back down. Luckily going down is much easier and was much faster. The kids were exhausted after our hike and my calves and thighs were sore for days!
