Getting Ready for 5

As I was getting things ready for the kids’ 5th birthday I had to grab a few photos.  I had this idea to make this huge 5 to have in their pictures.  So I found a piece of plywood Greg had and drew a 5 on it.  He cut it out for me with a jig saw and made it so that the 5 would stand up.  I then spray painted it red.

After painting it I needed Greg to cut holes in it for some lights I had bought.  I told him I bought 2 strings of lights and he needed to cut 20 holes with even spaces between them.  I ran to the store real quick and when I got back the wholes were all cut and it looked really good.

I asked him if we could put the lights in to see how it looked and he gets a look on his face.  He says umm I forgot to count the wholes I just started cutting them.  It turned out he had 6 holes too many.  Needless to say it was his turn to take a trip to the store and buy another strand of lights.

In the end the 5 turned out exactly the way I wanted.

Jaelee is also modeling a dress I made for her for her birthday party.  She wanted something sparkly and blue.  I also made some skirts for all the girls that were coming.DSC_0867 DSC_0872 B&W DSC_0878 B&W
