This year for their birthday party each of the twins chose their theme. Jaelee wanted a Cinderella party and Jayse wanted a monster truck party.
I had no idea how I was going to pull that off but slowly I came up with ideas. Pinterest also helped out a great deal. I made each of their birthday party invitations and printed them on 5×7 photo prints.

For about a month leading up to their party I was slowly buying items at the dollar, craft & second hand stores. It really helped that I was patient and waited until the items I wanted were 50% off at the craft stores.
For Jaelee’s party I thought it would be fun to have a table covered with decorations and make it look like a formal royal lunch party. I had Greg make me a pergola out of pvc pipe to go over the table. I made tutu skirts for all the girls and gathered princess items for their bags. I found a treasure hunt game with princesses at Zurckers.
For Jayse’s party I had Greg make a track we could prop up and have monster trucks go down for races. I found tire tubes at the dollar store for games and made pit passes and headbands for all the boys.
On the day of the party it was really windy out. Greg was helping in the house getting food and drinks ready while I was outside getting my tables set up. Greg got tables from work but they were completely out of chairs. I was a little panicked because Jaelee’s whole party was around the idea of this fancy lunch table and with out chairs I wasn’t sure how that was going to work. Luckily we had a bunch of small chairs and I just used our coffee table as the table. My best friend came early and helped me to set everything up. The wind was a pain and kept blowing my decorations but when Greg’s friend showed up he helped me to tie things down.
It seemed like this year everything went so fast I didn’t take as many pictures as I would of liked to. In the middle of the party Greg left with his friend to help somebody move a shed and I was left to do the (cup)cake lighting, birthday singing, games & presents by myself. Let’s just say we wont let that happen ever again :).
All in all it was a lot of fun and everyone had a great time. The boys loved racing their monster trucks down the track Greg made. The girls had a good time at their royal lunch. Everyone liked the princess treasure hunt game and racing with tires.
I just can’t believe another year has gone by and my kids are now 5! Here are the pictures:
