When we got back home from the coast we had one day before the kids started kindergarten. We found out just a few days before school started that they had so many kids that they had to open another kindergarten class room. We ended up having or orientation Monday night. We learned then that instead of paying a flat fee for school supplies like they had said it would be, that they had changed it and now we had to go get all the supplies they needed. I had to rush to the stores with the kids and find a backpack and school supplies for them. The stores were pretty empty at this point and we ended up going to 3 different ones to find everything we needed and we still ended up short a few items.
They both picked out their outfits for school the night before and seemed pretty excited about it. The morning of I woke them up and got them ready. We had some breakfast and then I took a few pictures of them. When we got to the school Jaelee just ran right up to it. Jayse stayed close to me. They asked if they could go play until the bell rang. I said sure and they put their backpacks down by the door and ran off. A bit later Jaelee came running back to me crying. I thought oh no what happened but she was just trying to go on the monkey bars and fell off. She was fine. The bell rang and they went and got their backpacks and got in line. I watched them walk into their class. Jayse looked terrified. Their teacher Mrs. McKinley asked the parents to come inside and she told us a bit about what they would be doing.
I took a few pictures of the kids and told them I would be there to pick them up after class. Jayse again looked terrified but didn’t cry.
When I picked them up they were fine and seemed to have fun. The rest of the wee went really well. Jayse told me he cried the second day when our sitter dropped him off but she said she didn’t see him cry. Besides that all was well and has been since! I still can’t believe, even as I write this months later that they are already in kindergarten!
