I have this obsession about seeing a bear in the wild. I have never seen one in the wild and I just think it would be exciting. We didn’t see a single bear in Yellowstone! So I knew I would see one for sure at Bear World in Rexburg. It was only a 10 minute drive from Jess’s parents house.
Before we went to Bear World we ran into town to get some sweat shirts for everyone. We had to go to 2 different stores to find jackets for everyone. And in the end didn’t need them. The rest of the time the weather was amazing!
Darin and his family weren’t going to Bear World so it was just us. We drove over there and when we got there I realized that it would only cost us $5 more to take Darin’s kids with us. So we drove back and picked the kids up and swapped Darin vehicles. We drove back with all the kids. The park has a lot more animals than just bear. You basically just drive around the park in your vehicle. They have deer, elk – even had an albino white elk that was cool to see, buffalo, sheep, bear and a moose. They had 56+ bears. They were everywhere! It was cool to see. It was hard to get pictures though because we couldn’t stop or roll down our windows.
After we drove around the park they have a gift shop, amusement rides and a petting zoo you can visit. We stopped there and went straight for the rides. The kids rode them several different times. We then went to the petting zoo where they had goats, chickens and even deer. One of the deer just laid there and let the kids touch it without even moving. The other tried to sniff them and that spooked the kids a bit. They didn’t want to be by it even for a picture. The kids got to feed goats, ducks and fish. This is where the baby bears were and they were just so cute! They were playing and wrestling with each other. I didn’t want to leave them.
We then went to the gift shop where they each picked out their own souvenirs. Then we drove around the park again to see the bears one last time. We then had to go back tot he rides to play with them one more time. It was a lot of fun and I’m glad we got to go. Jaelee and Jayse said after the trip that this was their favorite part.
