Adobe Max – Day 2

The conference started on Monday morning.  I had to go register and get my badge that morning and they were serving breakfast.  After registration and lunch it was the first general conference.  I walked over to the Nokia theater and got in line to enter.  I ended up getting pretty good seat.  Only about 4 rows from the stage.  While we were waiting for the conference to start they had huge screens up on the screen.  One scream gave you options like what do you prefer tea or coffee?  You text your answer to a number and you could see the results live.  After about a minute of voting they showed pictures and art from their behance members that were tagged with the winning term.  It was neat to see and a great way to pass the time.

Once the conference started I thought wow this is whole thing is going to be awesome!  It was so neat, there was loud music and the screens on the stage moved around and rotated while images were on them.  It’s hard to describe but it was amazing.  You could tell there was a lot of creativity and work put into the opening.  The rest of the conference was just as great.  We got to see new features in Adobe’s software.  We got to see some exciting stuff coming up.  I loved every minute of it.  Towards the end both the CEO for Adobe and the CEO for Microsoft came out and they were talking about how they were really working to make Adobe’s products work with Microsoft products.  They showed some of the things that you could do with a Microsoft surface and I was thinking to myself wow that is cool I’ll have to look at how much those are because I wanted one.  But then the CEO for Microsoft announced that everyone attending was getting a surface for free!  It was awesome.  There were of course loud cheers and everyone stood.

After general conference we had to walk back over to the LA Convention center for our lunch.  After lunch the labs and sessions started.  My first was a lab.  The labs were fun.  They had a bunch of computers set up in a room with all of Adobe’s products.  The instructor would go through how to do something and you got to follow right along.  I think that’s a great way to learn.

After my labs that day I went to the common area and walked around looking at the booths of all the sponsors.  There were some really neat products presented.  After looking around I went and got my new Surface Pro 3.  I then decided to go eat dinner.  I decided to go to Wolf Gang Puks.  I thought the food was ok, the price was a little high for me personally.  I ended up getting a $20 burger and $14 drink.

After dinner I went back to my hotel and played on my new surface for a bit.  Talked with Greg and the kids and then decided to walk to the theater and watch a movie.  I saw Gone Girl with Ben Affleck and thought it was really good.
