So after the first few days of the kids surgery things went horrible. It was filled with a lot of ice cream, popsicles, soup and sad faces.  The kids were in a lot of pain and Jaelee started to get really sick.  Her stomach was hurting her and she didn’t want to eat much.  I called the nurse and she thought she might be constipated due to all the medicine so we went and got milk of magnesia.  She didn’t improve after that and infact got worse and started throwing up so I called the nurse again and she told me that maybe it was the ibuprofen so I stopped giving that to her but continued the other pain medicine.  About 8 hours after we stopped giving her ibuprofen she was saying she couldn’t swallow.   The ibuprofen had been helping with the swelling in her throat and now that we had stopped giving that to her her throat swelled up.  At one point she was refusing to even swallow her own spit and her stomach was still hurting her.  So at this point I thought it can’t hurt to give her the ibuprofen again because she obviously had not improved.  We gave her a dose and it helped with the swelling so she could swallow again.  So now I thought well maybe it’s the pain med so I stopped that and finally her stomach started to feel better but then she was in much more pain. It had been a bit of a nightmare for a few days so when Saturday came along I was excited.

Jayse and Greg have gone to Monster Jam together for many years.  It was the weekend after the kids surgery and we took a gamble in buying the tickets hoping he would feel good enough to go.  Luckily he did.  So him and Greg headed off to Monster Jam.  It has been Jaelee and I’s tradition to go out to eat when they go.  She still was not feeling good but she said she still wanted to go so we headed out.  When we got down to the restaurant we had to wait a few minutes for the table and that was enough for her to change her mind and decide she wanted to leave and go back home to bed.  So that’s what we did.  Greg and Jayse had an ok time at Monster Jam he still wasn’t feeling very good but they made the best out of it.

On Monday Jayse went back to school for a half day but Jaelee stayed home.  They both went on a half day on Tuesday and Wednesday Jayse went back full time.  On Thursday they both went back full time and on Friday they went back to daycare and school.  It was a rough couple of weeks and I’m glad it’s over!
