Our Weekend Away – McCall Wedding

My best friends sister was getting married in McCall and she asked me to be the wedding photographer.  I was excited about it because it was going to be on a boat in a beautiful setting.  Because it was on a smaller boat they had limited space and asked that only adults come.  I was excited to have a weekend away with just Greg and get to take pictures!

We got up there early on Saturday and checked into our hotel.  I wanted to go scout some locations for photographs before I had to actually take the photos so Greg and I went down by the water and walked around as I looked for some great photo locations.  We went back up and quickly grabbed a bit to eat.  At that point it was game time.  We met in Stephanie’s suite and decided that Greg would take the groom down to a dock I found for their first look.

He stood at the end of the dock and I walked Stephanie down there.  I took photos while he saw his bride for the first time.  It really is a sweet moment.  We then headed to other locations and took some of just the two of them and then over the next few hours we slowly added more people and were able to get all the formal photos done.

After the photos were done I ran back to my hotel to get ready for the wedding.  While Greg and I were getting ready he pulled out the 1 button up shirt he has and it had stains all over it.  I told him he couldn’t wear it but it was all he had, it was either the stained shirt or a faded t-shirt with a hole.  I left that decision up to him and headed to the boat.  Greg ran to the grocery store to get some heart burn medication and while there he found a shirt but the sleeves were too short.  He got it anyway and just rolled them up.

As everyone started to arrive we loaded onto the boat and headed out.  We had about 30 minutes cruise time until we got to the location where the ceremony was going to be held.  It was nice just sitting on the boat mingling.  The weather was perfect it wasn’t cold or too windy and there was a nice cloud cover that made it really easy to get great pictures.

Once to the location they had the ceremony and then we got to eat a delicious dinner as the boat cruised around the lake.  It was so fun taking pictures and it was made extra fun by the company, location and atmosphere.  I had such a great time!

I took 100s of photos but I’m only going to post a few.
