We had told the kids for their birthday that we would take them to roaring springs instead of having a party. We had planned to go the last weekend in June. Before we went however, Jenelle invited us to go down to Utah to see her family, her new house, celebrate Elijah’s first birthday and go to Lagoon. How could we pass all of that up? So instead of going to Roaring Springs we did something even better.
Jenelle hadn’t quit closed on their home yet but the realtor was going to let us go through it. Since they were staying with a friend until they got their house we stayed at my Uncle’s apartment above his garage. We left on Friday after work and didn’t get in Utah until late. My brother whom is living with my Aunt and Uncle let us into the apartment and showed us around. It is an absolutely beautiful space. We were lucky to stay there.
When we got up Saturday Jaelee wasn’t feeling very good and shortly started throwing up. I couldn’t believe it, we came all the way to Utah and were about to go to Lagoon and she was sick! Luckily my Aunt had some essential oils and she rubbed some on Jaelee’s belly. After that she was throwing up constantly. My Aunt said that is what it was supposed to do was draw out the sickness. About noon we left to meet Jenelle to tour her house. By the time we got there Jaelee had fallen asleep so we let her stay in the car and sleep. We toured Jenelle’s house and it is awesome! So happy for them.
When we were done touring her house Jaelee woke up as we were getting in and she jumped up and said mom I feel better. We were so lucky because we were headed to Lagoon and we didn’t want her sick. She had no signs of being sick earlier after her short little nap.
We went back to where Jenelle was staying and got some stuff together and then headed out for Lagoon. It was most everyone’s first time at Lagoon. My youngest brother went with us and I think him and I were the only ones that had ever been. We crammed as much as we could into our half a day there and there was still so much more we could of done.
We started out at Lagoona beach. It was so crowded thought that I was ready to get out of there and ride some rides. The first ride Greg and the kids tried to go on got shut down after they had waited in line for a bit. Things were not starting out so good but it turned out to be an awesome day. We ended up breaking away from Jenelle and her friends and did our own thing. We rode as many rides as we possibly could. Some I couldn’t even believe the kids rode. They went on the colossus which is a roller coaster that goes through 2 loops. I thought for sure the kids would be scared to death but they did really good. They rode every ride they possibly could. We were there until it got dark around 10 o’clock
After we left Lagoon we were headed back to my Aunt & Uncles but we had to stop by In and Out Burger first.
Sunday morning we headed to Jenelle’s friends where they were staying to celebrate Elijah’s first birthday. Flo made some good BBQ, we ate had cupcakes and watched Elijah open presents and then we had to head out and get back home. It was a great weekend and I am so glad we were able to make the trip.
On our way home I wanted to stop at Shoshone Falls. I hadn’t wanted to go there for years but we never had the chance. So while we were going through the area I wanted to stop. Greg did not, he wanted to just get home. But because I was driving I stopped. Ha. It was pretty neat to see. I’m glad we stopped.
