For Labor Day Weekend we went camping. Greg wanted to go camping somewhere he could go bow hunting. He picked Anderson Ranch.
When we got down there all the camp sites were closed because there had been a fire there a year before and there were a lot of dead trees that could fall. There was a sign that said camp sites closed next 11 miles so we drove the 11 miles but the road literally ended there. We were able to find a spot across the bridge at the end of the road that was cleared enough to camp. It wasn’t ideal, there were no trees and it wasn’t near the water. We had left Saturday afternoon and being labor day weekend we knew if we even tried to find somewhere else they would be full. So we set up camp.
While we got things ready the dogs ran around and the kids road their bikes.
That night we just hung out by camp. The kids played with Jayse’s BB gun, we ate chili for dinner and went for a drive.
Sunday we had a delicious breakfast and hung out at camp for a few hours. We then got in the jeep and headed to the lake. There we hung out for hours fishing, playing in the mud and throwing sticks in the water for Bo to retrieve.
We then headed back to camp to eat and just hung out there. Greg and the kids tried catching grasshoppers for fishing bait. They caught a few. After dinner we went to a pond like area in the river and fished. When the sun set behind the mountain it started to get cold so the kids and I went to the jeep and Greg fished for a bit more. He finally caught a fish but it was a sucker fish. So we headed back to camp.
Monday morning Greg was ready to leave pretty early. We took the long way home driving most of the way home only going about 30 miles an hour.
