Jenelle invited us down to Utah to spend New Years down there. We left on the 30th and got down there in time to have dinner with Jenelle and Darin and his family that were also there visiting.
The next day Darin, Jess and the kids headed back up to Idaho and my mom came and got the kids and took them out shopping. Greg and I headed over to see my brother’s apartment and pick him up to take him with us to Salt Lake.
When the kids got back we headed to the train station to take a train into downtown Salt Lake. We were all pretty excited about riding the train. I will tell you it was awesome! It was so fast and convenient, we didn’t have to find a parking spot, or pay for parking, Greg and I didn’t bicker over his driving. It was the best and super easy.
By the time we got into Salt Lake we were starving so we hurried to the mall to look for something to eat. We ended up at a place called Johnny Rockets. It was a pretty good burger place and I liked their atmosphere.
After getting something to eat we walked around the mall until it got dark enough to see the Temple Square Lights. The lights were pretty neat. The architecture of the temple is pretty neat and I took a bunch of pictures of it, it just looked so beautiful. By the time we walked around and looked at lights the kids were tired of walking and ready to head back. So we went back to the train and headed back. On the train ride back my brother showed the kids the monkey lips trick. They thought it was the funniest thing ever.
On Friday we drove down to my moms to have lunch with her. The kids love it there. We had a yummy lunch and then we did chocolate fondue with marshmallows and pretzels. Jaelee got her first pair of high heels from my mom and she was super excited about them. She wore them around everywhere.
Friday evening and Saturday we just hung around Jenelle’s. Jaelee and Jayse played in the snow for a bit on Saturday. On Sunday we headed home, I wanted to bring little Elijah with us. He is just so sweet and cuddly. I’m glad we got to spend time with him and Jenelle.
