Daddy Daughter Dance

The daddy daughter dance was one of my most favorite parent moments thus far.  We made a big deal of it and I took Jaelee dress shopping the day of.  We started at JCPenny where we tried on a whole bunch of dresses.  Jaelee found one she loved but even with the dresses on sale I couldn’t bring myself to pay $60 for a kids dress.  I realized we probably wouldn’t find anything in a lower price range in the mall so we went to Ross where we found a bunch of cute dresses too.  Jaelee found one she liked so we bought it and found some shoes to go with.

Some how Jaelee had convinced Greg to wear a tie for the event.  Something I have never been able to do.  He doesn’t even own a tie so we also had to shop for that.  Jaelee picked out a simple black one.

After all our shopping we headed to Wendy’s for lunch.  On our way home we stopped at Walmart to see if we could find her some jewelry to wear.  We found her a cute head band, a necklace and bracelets.

When we got home she had a few hours to play and then we started to get her ready.  I put a little bit of make up on her, curled her hair and then we put her dress and accessories on.

Once she and Greg were ready we did a quick photo shoot.  She looked so precious and was so excited it just filled my heart with happiness.  After some quick photos Greg put her in the jeep and they drove off to go eat dinner together before the dance at Red Robin.

After they left Jayse and I went on a date.  I took him to the Nike store to get shoes.  He had been begging for months to get Nike shoes so I finally took him to get some.  He took FOREVER to pick out a pair.  Luckily they were having a great sale and we were able to afford shoes, a shirt and a pair of sweats.  He was so excited.

After shopping him and I went to eat at one of our favorite restaurants.  It’s a 50’s diner where the wait staff wears rollar skates.  They are really great on price and food.

After eating we went to the discount theater and saw the Chipmunk movie.  Jayse liked it but I thought it was terrible.  I enjoyed my time with Jayse though.

At the dance Greg said he had a great time but it was a lot like his high school prom.  Him and Jaelee danced 1 song and then she ditched him to run around and play with her friends, LOL.

  1. Look at all of those pretty dresses at Ross, which probably in total cost the same as 1 dress at J.C. Penny. Love the dress she chose. So pretty. What a fun night for everyone! And yay, Greg now has a tie;)
