Before I talk about our trip I wanted to give a little background. My sister has been in Florida for 5 years, I had gone for 1 visit but that’s it. There was a chance this was the last year they were going to be there so I thought if we are ever going to take advantage of the fact that she is there this is the year we have to do it. We knew if we were going to be on that side of the US we wanted to visit Greg’s sister Sharlee and her family in Georgia. So I had been planning for months our trip to Georgia and Florida.
I had looked at all kinds of times to go but to get the best bang for our buck we decided to go the day after the kids got out of school. Airplane tickets went up significantly in the week after. It was a little chaotic getting out of our rental house throwing all of our stuff in the new house and packing and leaving for a 10 day vacation but we did it. The plan was to go to Georgia for 3 days, drive to my sisters for 3 days and then spend 3 days in Orlando going to Universal studios and Legoland.
Like I said in my previous post we left super early in the morning. We had a pretty easy flight. We had an hour layover in Denver and then went on to Georgia. The plane ride was easy and pretty quick. When we arrived in Atlanta we went and got our rental car and right away drove to Sharlee’s. They live an hour and halfish from Atlanta. Her son Andy and his family were there which made it even better.
When we got there we got settled in and then we went to a park for the kids to run around. On our way there we stopped at a wall that’s painted with the American flag to get a picture of the kids in front of it. The park was really pretty with lots of trees. After the park we went back to the house and had pizza. I walked around her house and snagged a few pictures. Her house and property was so pretty, so many trees!
