Yesterday we went sledding with the kids and my brother and his girlfriend.

We didn’t leave as early as we wanted to because Greg had to take our dog Bo to the vet. His eyes have been red and one was almost shut plus I found a yucky looking hole in his fur that looked infected. I thought he might have ring worm and was freaking out.

Turns out that he probably has an eye allergy to something in the water where Greg goes duck hunting. His days being a bird dog may be over. And the icky hole in his fur likely started as a scratch and our other dog licked it and caused it to become infected. Arrow probably continued to lick it making it grow and lose hair. Still gross but not as gross as ring worm would have been. We had to separate the dogs so his wound could heel and he’s already on the mend and looking better.

Anyway back to sledding we left later than we wanted and didn’t get to our location until 3:30, the sun was already starting to go behind the mountains.

Because it has been so cold and rainy the snow was frozen and really hard. Not fun to sled in. We found a hill that wasn’t that great but because it was getting later we just went for it.

Greg and I didn’t sled but watched everyone else. Despite the cold (it was only 20 degrees out) and the rough snow it seemed like everyone was still having fun. Jayse found a good rhythm on his sled and could slide down pretty far. Holden kept trying to find a spot to fly down and hit a bump and keep sliding down. He however just seemed to keep crashing.

Jaelee wanted to use Jayse’s sled since he had found a good way to get all the way down the hill. While she was using his sled he picked up a different one. While going down the hill he came off the sled a bit and smashed his face in the hard snow. His check was all red and had a few scratches on it but he was alright. It was enough though to make him be done sledding.

He went and sat in the car after that. We stuck around for about 10 minutes more and then all packed it in. It wasn’t our best sledding day but seemed everyone had fun anyway.
