Givens Hot Springs

It’s become a bit of a tradition for the kids and I to go to Givens during Christmas break. I had yesterday off and wanted to do something fun with the kids. They were stuck on going swimming at the hot springs. It is pretty far away from where we live now so I tried to convince them to do something else. I was even going to get together with my friend and her kids but they would not budget on swimming.

So we went swimming. I didn’t think about it but the roads were still pretty snowy and we had to drive pretty slow. It took us over an hour to get there but we did.

It’s so hot. The whole pool area was pretty steamy, you couldn’t see the other end of the pool. We can only last about 45 minutes before we have to get out of the water and take a break.

Breaks always consist of a Popsicle, they sale them there for $.25 so why not? After our break we swam and played around for another 45 minutes and then headed home.

Since we were out that far I stopped and saw my grandma for a few minutes. My grandpa is not doing very well and has been in the hospital and now a nursing facility so I stopped to check on her. She was doing “terrible” in her words but I think she looked quite well and seemed very strong considering everything. Glad I stopped and saw her.

When we got home Greg had made us some delicious grilled ham and cheese sandwiches. Another great day.
