Usually Jaelee and I make a trip up to see my best friend once a year. However, this year she just bought a new house and I wanted to go up and see it. We were all going to go but then Greg ended up having to work and Jaelee had cheer camp the only weekend we could go. So Jayse went up there with me for the first time.
We left on Friday after I got off work. It’s a 5 hour drive so we got on the road fast. The drive was horrible. There was so much traffic and it was slow. There was also a lot of smoke and we saw signs saying there might be roads closed, luckily we didn’t run into that but there was a lot of road closures because of construction. We did finally make it to her parents house, where Amy met us about an hour south of her place. It was a nice break and really great to see and chat with them.
After about an hour we decided to leave and finish the hour drive to Amy’s. We just followed her and got to her house pretty late. We got a quick tour of her new place and then went right to bed.
The next day was amazing. Amy and I had a little girls day. I can’t believe I didn’t take a single picture. Dang it, I even mentioned I needed more of her and I together. We went and got pedicures, did some furniture shopping and had lunch. It’s so nice to have a day like that with no kids. A big thank you to her husband who watched her 2 boys and Jayse while we did our thing.
After our day out we just hung out at Amy’s. She has a beautiful new to her house. I love it. They have an absolute divine deck, it’s large with a beautiful view. We sat out there for hours just talking. The boys pretty much spent the whole day just playing video games. Jayse was in heaven.
Her husband made us nachos for dinner and they were delicious. That night we cuddled up on the couch, yes I got Jayse to cuddle with me and watch a movie.
On Sunday we had to head back. It was a fast trip but glad we got to go. Jayse didn’t want to leave. He had a great time playing video games and loved Amy’s house. Our drive home was worse than our drive there. There was so much traffic we were at a stand still. Which is really weird for the highway we were on. I guess everyone was headed home from camping. It was crazy how much traffi there was. It took us 2 hours longer to get home because of it. But we made it home.
