Jaelee and I used to go to Disney on Ice for years when they came here but they haven’t for a couple years so I looked into where they do come and the closest they get in Salt Lake City. I was telling my co-worker Katy about it and we decided that it would be fun to take a road trip with our girls and go to Disney on Ice.

We left on Saturday but our tickets were for a Sunday show, we thought it would be nice to get there the day before and do something fun in SLC. We didn’t get on the road as soon as we wanted and because of frequent bathroom stops it took a while to get down there. When we finally get checked into our hotel we were all pretty hungry. We wanted to go somewhere fun for dinner. Turns out that on a Saturday night in downtown SLC restaurants are full, especially during Prom season.

We finally decided to go to the Spaghetti Factory in Trolley Square. There was a 45 minutes late but we were ok with that because we could walk around. We parked on the top level of the parking garage and got a beautiful view of downtown. Walking around Trolley Square was fun. It didn’t turn out to be 45 minutes to get into the restaurant which was nice but man were they busy! Teenagers all dressed up for prom galore! They did have a balloon artist there and she made the girls a couple balloon dogs. Jaelee thought that was about the coolest thing ever!

After dinner we headed back to our hotel and went to go swim. I think because of the Disney on Ice our hotel was packed with kids and there were a bunch in the pool. I enjoyed a nice time in the hot tub while Katy and her daughter played in the pool with Jaelee and all the other kids.

We stayed for a bit and then went up to call our families back home before bed.

On Sunday we got up and had breakfast at the hotel. Checked out and then headed to the Event Center for the show.

I think I’ve bragged before about how fun these shows are. They are very entertaining with music, dancing, skating of course and acrobatics in the air. Jaelee and Zoe got a few souvenirs and really had fun. Sadly right after the show we had to hit the road and head back home. It was a quick trip but a great memory for me and my girl and one I’d gladly do anytime.
