May was a busy month, we had the kids birthdays, the end of school, I flew to Wisconsin and it seemed like everything was breaking.

We made some chairs for the deck. We have this nice deck but didn’t use it much because we had no furniture out there. I wanted to buy some but it’s expensive so I found a plan online to make our own chairs and Greg got to work making them for me. I found some cushions online on sale at big lots and now we have four nice sturdy chairs for the deck. We need to modify them though to have a higher back but even still we are really enjoying them.

In May I was given a chance to take on a new position at work, it’s not a promotion but kinda of. I am the culture steward for my office. I work for a huge company that has office and employees over many states. In order to keep them connected they have a culture program and a representative in each office that helps keep the culture. Basically it’s my job to make sure everyone enjoys work and has fun. I get to take people to lunch, plan BBQ’s, decorate for birthdays and so on. If I do this I get a bonus each quarter. Sounds like a great deal to me! They had a culture get together with all the stews and so I flew to Wisconsin to our headquarters. It was a super fast trip, I flew out early Thursday and back late Friday. I didn’t see any of WI but the airport, free way and our headquarters. Headquarters was amazing, my favorite part was their full studio. They photograph everything from products for Cabelas to items for craft stores, it was pretty cool. In fact the whole company is pretty amazing. It was a short but nice trip. I only got a few pictures but here they are.

We had a mattress for way too long and Greg and I’s back couldn’t take it anymore so after a lot of research I purchased a mattress online that was delivered to the house in a box. So far we love it!

I get a ton of free stuff at work. This is just one of my hauls.

My allergies since May have been horrible. I have barely been able to wear contacts because my eyes are so itchy and dry. May seemed like a pretty bad month and my eyes kept turning red.

The weekend of the kids birthday party our air conditioner broke. On top of that a few days later our fridge broke. Luckily for the air conditioner Greg was able to score one from his work for free and it only cost us $250 to have it moved and replaced with our old one. We could of bought a cheaper or used fridge but I wanted it to match our other appliances and frankly I just wanted a nice new one that wont break down in a couple years. So we splurged and got the fridge I really wanted. This thing is a monster and can fit so much food in it, I love it.

My co-worker brought in a local magazine because his brother was on the cover for a play he was in. When he showed it to me I knew the girl, it is Jess’s sister in law Stephanie. So cool we had to take a picture together with the cover.
