We were so lucky so much of our family was in town for Cole’s baptism. While Grandpa was here Greg scheduled Jayse’s field test to get his hunting license so he could be there. Greg said it would only take an hourish so he scheduled it before the baptism. I wanted to be there as well so the 4 of us headed out to Nampa.
When we got there I realized it was the exact same place I took hunters ed when I was 13. It was cool for me that Jayse was taking his field test in the same place I did.
The instructor went over some key points for about an hour, then he started to take groups of people out for the field test. It became apparent that this was not going to just take an hour. After the field test then they had to do the written test.
Jayse was one of the youngest and smallest, he also was the in the last group for the field test and was the last one to finish the test. He got through it all though and passed, getting his hunting license. So proud of him! We had to race back home to get ready for the baptism afterwards.
Later in the weekend Grandpa went and got him his own rifle. Which was a fiasco just to get but we did and he is so excited to go deer hunting this year.
