Spring Break – Seattle Alki Beach

This year I took the week of Spring Break off again and I decided we would go to Seattle then down the coast to Greg’s parents. I had never been to Seattle so I thought it would be fun.

I rented an AirBnB, which was pretty awesome. We left early Saturday morning and made really good time and got to Seattle by 2:30. We couldn’t check into our AirBnB until 3 so we drove around looking for a bathroom but could not find a dang gas station with a bathroom. We spent so much time driving around that we ended up going back to our AirBnB to check in.

The AirBnB was really small but had a modern touch which I loved. It was close to everything which was also great, quiet and really easy to get to.

It happened to be sunny and warm in Seattle so I thought it would be a great idea to go to Alki beach for the afternoon.

On our drive to Alki beach we stopped where we could see the whole view of the Seattle skyline. It was pretty cool. While we were there we saw people riding around in bikes, the kids really wanted to ride one so we drove to the rest of the way to the beach to see if we could find where to rent them.

It was pretty easy to find the bike rental place but finding somewhere to park was a different story. We drove around for a bit up and down streets and ended up parking quit a ways away.

We had a lot of fun on the bike. It was a bike that 4 people could petal and 1 person steered. I started out steering but Jayse was begging to get to drive so we swapped places. I was a nervous wreck, there were a lot of people out and I kept thinking he was going to run into someone. He didn’t but I was still nervous. After a while Jaelee wanted to drive. She was a bit better at steering but still made me nervous. We rode the bike back around to where you can see the Seattle skyline and back. Jayse said the bike ride was his favorite part thing we did in Seattle.

After we took the bikes back we went down to the beach for a bit to pass some time before dinner. I had made a reservation at Bucca di beppa for dinner. I have to say this was WAY disappointing. There was no where close to park. Jayse wasn’t feeling great because he had an ear infection and our waiter was horrible. Not to mention we ended up paying $100 for the meal! For spaghetti, lasagna and pizza for 3 of us! I couldn’t believe it was so much. We had a lot of left overs so we took them with and that’s what we ate the next night for dinner too.

After dinner we were all pretty tired so we went back to the house to just relax for the rest of the night.
