Spring Break – Ballard Locks

On Monday our last day in Seattle we got up and packed up. We took a bunch of pictures around the house we stayed in because it was so tiny. The kids could touch a wall and touch hands. Jayse was taller than the fridge. The upstairs bathroom was a water closet. The whole room was the shower with a toilet and small sink in it at one end. I was actually really excited to stay here. Greg and I have talked about buying property and build a tiny house on it for a weekend/summer get away so it was nice to live in a tiny space for a few days. I think I could definitely spend weekends there but I don’t know about living there full time.

After we got all packed up we drove to Ballard locks. It’s where the fresh water and ocean water meet. They have a lock there to raise boats up or down to enter or exit the ocean. It was pretty cool to see how that all worked. There is also a place where you can go under it to see fish ladders. Sadly that was closed for remodel but we still thought the locks was cool We got to see a couple of boats come in.

After Ballard Locks we headed down the coast to get to Grandma & Grandpas. The drive was great, except through Portland we got stuck in traffic for an hour. I think I liked Seattle more for that one reason, Seattle traffic didn’t seem to be as bad as Portlands.

When we got to Drain and headed down 38 towards Reedsport I saw trees fallen all along the highway. I mean there was a ton. Guard rails were damaged, trees were poking out, I saw trees that were fallen with the roots pulled straight out of the ground. I thought maybe a tornado had gone through the area. It was like that the entire way to Reedsport. I did get a video of it on my way home to show Greg that I’ll try and put in with my last post.

Loved looking down the stairs and seeing this was so cute! Love those little buns. Don’t know how he can sleep with those socks on though.
