For the fair this year we did our usual and were there right when it opened. However while we were walking in I noticed Jaelee was wearing flip flops. I knew from experience in the past that she wouldn’t be able to ride some rides or go in the funny houses. So, much to Greg’s annoyance her and I ran back to the car hurried home for her to change and came back.
We typically like to do the rides first, while the lines are shorter and to get them out of the way. We were only a little over a week out from Jayse’s surgery so we knew there were some rides that we were not going to let him do. We still managed to do quit a few though.
The theme of this visit seemed to be all about the food. Greg wanted to sample everything! He started with some corn dogs and lemonade while the kids were in line for the roller coaster. As we made our way around the fair we had mexican corn on the cob, burgers, gyros, hot dogs, mini donuts, pizza cones, fries and some I’m probably forgetting.
After the rides we let the kids go in the bubble water things and then went and got some lunch. Jaelee got a foot long hot dog. It was huge, turns out though it was gross. The texture was super gross almost mushy and the flavor was icky.
We walked by the tractors and equipment on the way to check out my photos. This year I won a second place and honorable mention for my photos.
After that we were kinda done except we had to stop and get a bit more food. We decided to skip the petting zoo this year which I was excited about but then later found out this year they had a Zebra there, Dang it! I would of loved to pet one of those.
This year Greg and I were talking about how we are getting close to the last few years the kids will want to go to the fair with us. Soon it will all be about going with their friends and not their lame parents. So I’m soaking up every moment with them.
