One of my good friends was turning 50. We wanted to do something fun with him, he mentioned to our other friend that he had never been to McCall so she suggested we take him up there for a day. I love McCall and this time of year it sure is beautiful so I was definitely down to go.

It’s a nice resort town about 2 hours away. We thought we’d go up there walk around the lake and town for a bit and get some lunch. We left Sunday morning and had a nice drive up there.

I sprained my ankle the day before (more to come on that) so I limped around with them and couldn’t walk to much. They were really good sports and made it pretty easy for me. I was bummed about it but glad I was still able to go.

It was really nice up there a beautiful day, the weather was nice and the trees were all turning colors. We saw some pelican on a creek outside of McCall. My friend is really into bird watching so that was fun for him to see. In fact he has a huge lens that zooms in really close. He let me use it on my camera while we were by the pelicans and while I had his lens on a pelican came in. I got some pretty good pictures of it and felt a little bad I got the shot with his lens. But he got some pretty good shots when we saw a momma deer and 2 babies as we were driving around the National Park. We drove up to a nice site overlooking the lake.

After all that we went and had lunch at the lodge on the lake. We had really nice seats right by the window with the lake view. Our lunch was just ok we all thought but it was still a nice atmosphere.

We all had a great time one I’m glad we got to do.
