Carving Pumpkins

Well this year like many before we were really busy and didn’t get to carve our pumpkins until pretty late. We didn’t make it to any pumpkin patches this year either. I was kinda sad, we’ve been going since the twins could walk. This year the time just went by so fast we never made it. There was one open after Halloween and I asked the kids if they still wanted to go and they didn’t seem interested so we didn’t.

We ended up just picking a few pumpkins up at the grocery store. My brothers came over to carve with us. I made some broccoli cheese soup and grilled cheeses.

This year I got a green pumpkin, I always like the funky and weird looking ones. I had cut my top open on the pumpkin was all when while I was cooking some grilled cheeses I accidentally touched the pan and burnt my finger. It hurt really bad, if I had ice on it, it wasn’t too bad. So I couldn’t really finish gutting my pumpkin. Greg stepped in and gutted it for me. I asked him to get me a drill and a big bit and I just put some holes in it.

Greg and the kids all made their own jack o’ lanterns free style, no patterns this year. Jaelee made a witch, Jayse made an angry face and even carved I’m Angry into it and Greg’s had one with a zipper like mouth. My brothers was very traditional with triangle eyes, nose and a classic mouth.

Other than burning my finger it was a pretty great night.
