I had taken off a bunch of days for Christmas break. I thought it would be fun to go down to Utah to see my mom and Jenelle. With the kids being sick though I was not sure we were going to be able to go. The day before we were going to leave though they started to show improvement so we decided to leave the next day.

We left on Sunday and got down there in the afternoon. We checked into our hotel and then went over to my moms. We hung out there for a bit and then met Jenelle for dinner. After dinner we met back up with my mom and went to our hotel to swim and hangout in the hot tub.

The next morning we got breakfast at the hotel and it was starting to snow pretty good. I was a little worried because we only had plans to stay another night and then we were going to drive home to be with Greg for New Years. Jenelle was going to drive up to our house that day to spend New Years with us and Darin but because of the snow she decided to stay another day and follow me up the next day.

We hung out with my mom that day. We went to a local candy company and took a tour. I remember going on a tour of a candy factory when I was a kid and it was awesome, I wanted my kids to experience it but I can’t remember the name of the factory we went o. This factory was not the one I went to and the tour was ok but we still had a good time and got a bunch of yummy candy.

That evening we rode the train into downtown to see the lights. It was kind of comical getting there. We had to drive to a train stop and the nearest was at the airport but we couldn’t park there. I drove to the next one and couldn’t find anywhere to park either, I finally found a place to park on the street a ways down, we had to walk a bit to get to the train stop. But we finally made it and riding the train is so convenient and easy.

Once downtown we went into the mall to get some dinner, it was crazy busy there! We went to the food court and each picked our own place to eat and then met up at a table to eat.

It was getting later in the evening and the kids all really wanted to swim so we only had a short time to look at the lights, we made a quick loop around in about 20 minutes. Hoped back on the train, walked back to the car and went to the hotel to swim.

We headed back home the next morning, we met Jenelle at her apartment and Elijah rode with us. Jenelle and Daisy rode in her car and we got home that afternoon, just in time to head to Darin’s for New Years Eve fun.
