McCall Winter Carnival Day 1 Part 2 – Year 7

After seeing all the sculptures we headed to the Hot Springs, we figured this would be a good to day to go because again there would be less people in town. We were right, there were some others but not too many. We were able to relax and hang out there for hours.

We only left when we did because Jaelee wanted to get back to town to participate in the night light parade. On our way out of the hot springs we saw a vehicle struggling to get up a hill, after many attempts they ended up getting stuck. Greg drove passed them and pulled over to go help them. There wasn’t much he could do on his own, we did not have tow straps. But several other people ended up stopping as well, they all worked together to get them out but I guarantee they likely got stuck again. You can not drive a 2 wheel drive vehicle into there, just too much snow. Anyway we got back to the cabin, changed and Jaelee and I headed out to go to the parade meet up. It was weird not to have my friend and her boys with us this year for it but we still had a good time. We got her light up trinkets, chocolate milk and a cookie. Then we waited in line until the parade started. There was a group in front of us that had these fun light up balloons on sticks. Then the firefighters light up their torches and it was time for the parade to start. It’s a short walk and afterwards we stayed were the parade ended to meet up with Greg & Jayse for the fireworks.

It was really cloudy out so I was interested to know how the fireworks would work with the clouds. They were still pretty great but it was really smoky, the clouds made all that smoke just stay around. Towards the finale you could hardly even see the fireworks, just that there was colors lighting up the sky.

After the fireworks we went back to the cabin and ate a delicious dinner, got into some comfy clothes and hung out. It was a great day!
