McCall Winter Carnival Day 1 – Year 7

We made our annual trip to McCall. This year my brother didn’t go and my friend Amy was only able to come down Saturday so it was a little different. We like to go up Thursday night and this year was the same but we had to leave after Jaelee’s band concert so we didn’t get up there until pretty late.

Friday morning we woke up pretty early because we had a lot of stuff we wanted to pack into the day. Friday is a really good day to go look at sculptures because there are not that many people in town yet. First we had to go get breakfast at the pancake house. The kids got their usual hot chocolate and pancakes. The food there is so good. Greg also got a cinnamon roll, which was the biggest I have ever seen. I didn’t get a picture of it but it was huge! As big as a plate and didn’t fit in the to go container.

After breakfast we went back to the cabin to get ready to walk around and look at sculptures. We had a map of where the sculptures were and Greg was determined that this year we would see every single one of them. We started with the ones that were all within walking distance of each other. It snowed off and on while we were walking around.

This years theme was something about kids, can’t remember exactly what it was. There were some really great sculptures as usual. Some of our favorites were the castle, the Dr. Seuss themed one, Frozen & so many others!

After we walked for hours looking at all the sculptures in town we walked back to the car and drove to the other sculptures. Once we had seen all but the few that were out of town we went back to the cabin and got ready to go to the hot springs. I’ll have to put those and the rest of the day in another post. On our way to the hot springs we saw the last 2 sculptures we could see. We saw all but 1 that we couldn’t get to. Pretty good I’d say.
