McCall Winter Carnival Day 2 – Year 7

On Saturday Amy and her boys made it down. We didn’t have much time to hangout before we had to head to town to watch the Mardi Gras parade. Jayse didn’t want to go this year so him and Greg stayed at the cabin.

Greg tried to drive us to the parade but there was so much traffic he couldn’t make it far. We had to walk most of the way. Last year we were at the end of the parade and a lot of the floats ran out of candy so we thought we should try the front this year. By the time we got there it was so packed. We were like 2 rows of people back. It was fine until the parade started and the kids weren’t getting anything. There was group of adults in front of them catching all the beads and candy before it even got back to the kids. I could not believe adults were hogging the front of the row when there were kids behind them. I finally told Jaelee and the boys to just jam their way in front of them. They did and started to get some beads and candy but some of the adults were still reaching out and grabbing beads that the kids should of got, it was just crazy!

Other than that the parade was really good, we saw a lot of good floats and the kids did get candy and beads. It snowed the entire time. It was a wet snow so we were all wet by the time it was over.

When the parade was over we were walking towards the grocery store and caught the end of the parade again, this time because it was the end they were just chucking out handfuls of beads and candy, the kids got more beads and candy on this last bit than during the whole parade with the crappy adults.

We got a few groceries and then Greg came and picked us up. We went back to the cabin and ate some lunch. We were going to go watch the snow bike races but because it was snowing and cold we ended up staying at the cabin the rest of the day and just hanging out, playing games and eating delicious food. The kids went outside for a bit and sled down the hill in the back of the house. It was getting dark so I couldn’t take a good picture so I took a bunch of videos instead.

Saw a mommy deer and her babies in the backyard of the cabin a couple of times. Pretty cool.

An Albertsons ad I made for a vehicle in the float.
