Fourth of July

We had the chance to stay at our neighbors cabin for the Fourth of July. It was really gracious of them and we had a great time. There cabin is in Garden Valley which is only about an hour drive from our house.

We headed up there Friday afternoon and got there about 3. They had a beautiful view of the Valley. We realized we forgot a few things so we went to the store. One thing I forgot was a hat. My forehead and been burnt a lot this summer and I wanted it covered, it couldn’t take anymore sun. We found some cute sun hats for Jaelee and me and picked up the rest of the items we needed. We had pizza for dinner, hung out, I read for a bit, the kids and Greg played pool. It was a nice afternoon and night.

For the Fourth we went to a co-worker of Greg’s his parents live in the area. They had a beautiful piece of property and were some of the most welcoming people. They fed us so much food. I seriously at a ton. We had authentic mexican tacos – with home made tortillas and meat from a pig they had raised and killed. It was really really good. After we stuffed ourselves we went to the river to cool off and hang out. Sam had some floaties we were able to bring, him, Greg and the kids floated down for a stretch and then we all just kind of hung out. It was pretty busy so we went to the other side of the river to have some space to ourselves. We had to cross the water with all our stuff. It was difficult but everyone made it.

After the river we all went our own ways to get changed and chill for a bit. We hung out at the cabin, played some more pool. For dinner we had corned beef and cabbage. After dinner we met back up with Sam, his girlfriend and roommate to watch Fireworks downtown. We didn’t want to be near the crowds so we watched them from a bit away in the back of Sams truck.

After the fireworks show we went back to the cabin and lite off some more fireworks. Sam had a bunch. We had a nice time.

It was a great way to spend the Fourth of July this year. So grateful for our neighbors and letting us use their cabin.
