Of all the things we’ve done around the house this one might be my very favorite. I have hated the old shelves that were just sitting by the wall with all the exposed pantry stuff. They are in the background of a lot of my photos and I just hated it.
I had an idea for a pantry for years but we needed the money and the time to do it. The stars finally aligned and we started the pantry in December. We worked on it for a couple of weekends and it was done by mid January. They turned out just as I had imagined and I love it so much. It has really finished the upstairs kitchen living room area. I can not say again how much I love them.
Both Greg and I worked on it. I did all the painting and he did most of the building – I helped some.
I tell him all the time we make a great team. I’m the dreamer and he’s the dream maker, hahahaha – yes I’m that corny. I designed it so that I would have a large chunk for food storage and a smaller piece of it for our brooms, vacuums and cleaning supplies. I wanted the barn sliding doors and I wanted 2. I have to say the doors and installing them was 2x harder then the rest. Figuring out the exact heights needed and how they are hung was a bit of a challenge. But we made it happen!
Again I just love love love it!
This is my I’m so excited this is happening I can’t stand it face!
While taking pictures of the pantry I had to get an updated one of the living room with the wood wall. Which I need a new one now because we’ve finally trimmed out the top of my shelves.
