Western Idaho Fair

We missed the fair last year since it was canceled because of COVID. This year seemed different I think we are finally at a stage where the kids are a bit over the rides and would probably rather be going with friends. They just didn’t seem into it like usual.

I always thought it opened at 11 but was totally wrong and it’s noon. We wanted to be there right as it opened so we got there a bit before 11 only to find out we had an hour wait. There were already people there so we decided to stay. I had already purchased our tickets online so we got straight into the line for the gate and were the very first ones in line. However, we had to stand there for an hour! It was nice being firs though. We got it and went straight for a ticket booth to get the kids ride wrist bands. Those ticket lines can get really long. We walked right up to one though and after getting their wrist bands went straight to the rides before those lines got long.

The kids didn’t seem super into the rides like I said. They went on a few and then lines started to get longer and they seemed over it. We were all getting hungry so we went to the food area. We got some food and then walked over to one of the show areas. The show was about to start so we went in and watched. It was a guy in a pool on a water jet. It was actually pretty cool to watch and we all got soaked from it but it was nice since it was so hot out.

When the show was over we walked around a bit more and got some more food. We then made our way over to the Expo to look at the pictures. Greg always likes to stop and look at the old tractors too.

I already knew what ribbons I got for my pictures because a friend had been there earlier in the week and told me. I submitted 5 photos this year, the most ever! I ended up getting 2 second place ribbons and a first place. It is always nice to see my photos there.

After seeing the photos we went and got mini donuts and then everyone was ready to go home. I have a feeling next year we may be going kidless while the kid go with their friends. But we will see.

The first ride they went on was this one that swings and goes upside down. I think it might have freaked Jaelee out a bit cuz she didn’t want to do anymore upside down ones after this.
