On day 2 of our trip I finished a book I’d been listening to and was feeling all the feelings so I needed a moment to myself. I couldn’t have been in a better place. Being able to hop in the car and drive down to the beach to sit for an hour was….peaceful. I sat there on some of those logs and then took a walk along the beach. It was so peaceful and calming. I’d wished I’d brought my camera almost right away but I got a few pictures with my phone. I saw some neat tracks in the sand, I think a raccoon, birds and maybe even a larger animal? Just beautiful.

When I got back I noticed a big tear in the shorts Greg was wearing and he already had one in the shorts he wore the day before and that was all he brought. So him and I decided to go to Coos Bay and look for some new shorts. We were going to be there later anyway to watch Ashton’s football game. We talked with his parents and they would bring the kids with them to the game and we’d meet up with them.

Since we had plenty of time we stopped by the beach so I could see if there was anything I’d want to take pictures of. And I found one of my favorites! Buzzards or Turkey Vultures. Not sure why or how I came to like those freaky looking things but I did. They were pretty close so I got some pretty good pictures of them.

After I’d had my share of the birds we headed to Coos Bay. We stopped by his brother Brian’s work and chatted for a bit and then went to Fred Myer where we found exactly 2 pairs of shorts that would work for him. It was slim pickins so glad we found those 2!

We then headed over to the school to watch Ashtons game. He did really well. Got a touchdown, tackles and I’m sure much more. Seemed like he was a star player – playing pretty much the whole game. On defense and offense. It’s always fun to watch games.
