Christmas day is always a pretty easy going day for us. We lounge around. It’s so easy going that I am typically the most excited and up the earliest. I had to wake the kids up this year like many years.

After Jaelee came downstairs to see what was in her stocking we went upstairs to have breakfast. I made our traditional crockpot casserole. Our rule is we can’t open presents until after we eat breakfast.

Once breakfast is done we get to opening presents. We really tried to scale back on presents this year. We knew we had a big trip coming up and were saving for that. There was one big present we wanted to get the kids that we thought would be fun for all of us and be easy to take traveling. We got the kids a Nintendo Switch. Greg and I actually had gone out black Friday shopping after Thanksgiving at 4 am. We were one of the first in line to get it.

It happened to be a beautiful snowing white Christmas.

We got both the kids wireless ear buds, also we thought good for travel.

Jayse isn’t getting harder to shop for but we found a weight bench on a good sale during our black Friday shopping so we got him a weight set.

We made our typical big Christmas dinner. My brother was able to come over and join us for that.
