Marching Band Camp

Jaelee decided to join marching band. After playing with them for a night last fall she knew she wanted to do it. It is a big commitment and takes a lot of time. She knew that if she was going to join she’d have to play a different instrument. She decided she wanted to do the trombone. We got her one this summer to practice – which she never did. I emailed the band director and asked if she’d still be able to do marching band if she didn’t know the instrument and she said absolutely! She would learn as they went.

The first two weeks of August Jaelee had marching band camp. She had a great time. It was a lot. About 40 hours each week but they had a lot of fun. They had theme days – like cowboy, luau, white lie, school spirit and others. She fully committed to each. By the end of camp she knew she’d made the right decision joining marching band. She was also able to build her skills playing the trombone.

Jaelee and Jayse’s good friend Mark plays trombone in the band too. You’ll see a lot of pictures of him through band. Him and Jaelee are by each other a lot.

I LOVE that parents of students in the band take so many pictures and post them. I pulled all of these pictures from facebook. So grateful!
