Jaelee had her first high school band concert. Sadly, it was the same night as the end of season football banquet. So Greg and I divided and conquered. He went to the banquet with Jayse and I went to the band concert.
The concert blew my socks off! First the jazz bands performed. There are 2. One for the freshman and one for the upper classman. They both were great. I saw a lot of kids I recognized from marching band and the craziest thing was almost all of them were playing different instruments. I just continue to be blown away by the talent of all the kids – including Jaelee. She played trombone in marching band but plays bass clarinet in concert band.
After the jazz bands, concert band performed 2 songs and they were amazing as well. But the best part and probably one of my favorite things of the whole season was when the marching band came in and performed. Hearing them in the concert hall was epic. One of the other moms had told me just prior that it was amazing and I was going to love it and she was absolutely right! I love loud music and this music was LOUD. You could feel the music in your body literally. I couldn’t see Jaelee or get great pictures but I didn’t care I was soaking in that music. I did get a video but it does not do it justice at all. I was so sad Greg and Jayse missed – it was a phenomenal night.
I’ll have to upload the videos later.

After the band concert each group took a quick photo in their uniforms. Here’s Jaelee with the lower brass.
