I still had my friends long lens that he let me borrow during football & marching band season. Just after Halloween we had a near full moon. I took his lens out and tried to get some photos. I had a hard time focusing and hand holding it but I managed to get a few photos.
On Nov. 8th I knew there was going to be a total eclipse/blood moon. I thought since I still had his lens I would give it a try photographing it.
I had to wake up at 3:45 in the morning. I put on a robe, got my tripod out and went outside to see if the moon looked red. It sure did! I set the camera and tripod up and took a few photos. I went and woke the kids up so they could see it. They looked for a couple of moments and went back to bed. I went in and asked Greg if he wanted to see it but he said nah, he’d just look at my photos. I went back out and tried to get photos for another 30 mins. It was super windy and cold but I’m glad I did it. I took a bunch of photos but most of them were blurry because of the dang wind, even with a tripod.
I find it so fascinating that a person sitting outside in their robe with a single lens and camera can get pictures like this. Just so cool to me.
Some pictures of the moon I got a few days prior.
Pretty cool to see this moon.
