I sure do miss going to the McCall winter carnival for a weekend like we did for years. They didn’t do the carnival for a couple of years because of Covid and when they brought it back we’ve just been too busy to make a weekend work.
This year we at least made it up for a day. It was the last day of the carnival and there was not a lot of people there – which surprised us.
We walked around and looked at the sculptures. It didn’t seem like there were as many as in years past. The theme was something about fantasy – we saw a lot of dragons. They were all pretty great!
The town of McCall has decided that the carnival has become more of a hassle then it’s worth so this is the last year they are doing it in this format. Next year it will only be 3 days instead of 2 weeks. It will move to the end of February instead of January and I’m not sure they’ll do all the activities they did before.
I think that is why they didn’t have as many sculptures this year.
I’m glad we got to go up there for the last year.
It was snowing pretty much the whole time. Sometimes it was a full on snow blizzard and then it would get lighter and then come back crazy snowing. It was beautiful!
After looking at the sculptures we went to lunch.
Before heading out I tricked everyone into a quick photoshoot. Love how the pictures turned out, even though all of us need haircuts!
It was a nice day and who knows what the future of the carnival looks like but I sure hope we can continue to make trips up to McCall in the winter, it sure is beautiful.
This is the lake, it was all white and it was snowing so much that’s pretty much all you could see was white.

For some reason Jayse has a thing about monkey’s I saw this store called MonkeyLove so we had to get a picture of him in front of it.

Snowing like crazy on the drive home. I got this pictures while I was driving. It was just too beautiful to not get a some more photos.
