Jayse and I heard that Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston (from Breaking Bad or Malcom in the Middle, if your old like me) were going to be in Boise promoting their Dos Hombres Mezcal. I asked him if he would want to go downtown where they would be and he said sure. Turns out the location was part of Treefort a music fest that was going on during Spring Break. Tickets to Treefort for the day were sold out but they were allowing (at just the one location) entrance tickets so we decided to go.

I asked Jaelee if she wanted to go and she had no idea who they were and wanted to stay home.

My bff Amy happened to be in town so she decided to come along with us.

From the pictures I thought this was an inside venue and I was mistaken. We froze!

While we were entering the venue Amy and I got wrist bands for being over 21 after showing our ID. Jayse thought we were just getting bands for the entrance so he stuck his arm out too and got a band! They didn’t even look up to notice.

We stood out in the wind and cold, sometimes snowing for hours to see them. Luckily there was music and food to keep us entertained while we waited. They finally came out and got on top of the van that was there. They used a mega phone and said a few things and then got in the van to serve their Mezcal. We were in line to get a sample but it didn’t move much before they were out and on the move doing something else.

They walked dover to the crowd a bit, we were really close. I kept getting about one person away and then they’d walk off. Never got a photo with them. Amy got a close enough to get a photo with Bryan Cranston but her camera didn’t go off fast enough and he walked away…bummer.

They seemed to be good sports. They announced to the crowd that they had signed bottles of their Mezcal at some local liquor stores. Once we decided to leave we stopped at the stores but all the signed bottles as well as any bottle of their Dos Hombres was gone.

It was a fun experience with my son regardless.
