For our 2nd full day we started at Leonardo’s Vineyard. It was a Vineyard gifted to him in 1498 by the Duke of Milan while he worked on the Last Supper in Saint Maria. There are people that live there in apartments. You can tour the main level and the grounds.
It was very beautiful.
After the Vineyard we made our way to Sforzesco Castle. We walked around this on our family trip the year before but we didn’t have time to go inside. Luckily we were able to this time. It is now a museum and it was huge! We spent a few hours there walking through.
This is the start of Michelangelo’s last sculpture that obviously he didn’t get to finish before he died.
After the castle we walked through the park and to the Arch of Peace. We had lunch just beyond the Arch. I was trying to eat something besides pizza or pasta so I got a salmon club. I didn’t even think about the fact that the salmon might be raw but it was! I was able to eat one half before I just couldn’t do the raw anymore.
After lunch we made our way to China Town. Definitely not my favorite. It’s very dirty graffitied and a lot of closed shops.
After China Town we went to the vertical forest area.
Rode the tram.
The Vertical Forest is modern buildings with tons of trees. I think Brandi said there are over 200 species. At the little shopping area we got more gelato!
That night we met at Brandi’s for dinner. We had tons of food left over from the charcuterie earlier in the week. It was nice to get together casually and hang out.
