Girls Trip – Milan, Day 3

For our 3rd day together and in Milan we were going to the last Supper. My sister has been there before so Amy and I decided to brave the metro ourselves without my sister guiding us. We managed perfectly fine! On our way to the metro we saw a tree had fallen on our path there.

We had an appointment first thing in the morning to see the Last Supper.

The church it is in looks pretty ordinary. Especially compared to so many others we see.

We made it into see the Last Supper. You get exactly 15 minutes in there. Our guide was great. You could feel his passion for this piece of art. He spoke very enthusiastically about it and gave us a lot of info. Most of which I don’t remember! What I do remember is that the original painting showed Christs feet. Many years after the painting was created they cut out a door way underneath – which was later bricked in and is still there today.

After seeing the Last Supper we went into the church – Santa Maria.

We walked to some ruins and stopped at Basilica di Sant’Ambrogio along the way. It was an unexpected find and really beautiful on the inside.

We went to this fun bakery called Mr. Dick. They had waffles they dip in different chocolates in the shape of a penis or vagina. The 2 running the bakery were characters! When a song came on – it was the guys jam and he just started dancing and knocked something over and just kept on dancing. He kept calling us all baby. The dick shaped waffle maker was broken so we all got vaginas or p***ies as the staff kept calling them. It was fun and delicous.

We walked to navigli canals for lunch. Ate at La Prociuttereria for lunch. Brandi and I got sandwiches that were a bit funky. Everyone else shared a large charcuterie board.
