On Thursday we had planned to arrive at my Uncle’s place in Island Park for my family reunion. We left Cardston fairly early but not too early because we were told it didn’t open until 8 am. We made it through the border with no problem.

I knew we were close to Glacier National Park in MT so I thought we might as well stop there on our way through. We got there, got our tickets and entered the park. We only made it about a mile in before we got to another check point and were told that we couldn’t go any further unless we had a reservation. I had no idea you needed a reservation. We were told we could go back to the visitor center and try and get on a bus to see the park. We didn’t have enough time for that so we turned around and went and got our money back for the park entrance. Big bummer! Would of been cool to see that, maybe another time. And now I know you need to get a reservation a year in advance!

After that we decided our next stop would be in Helena to get lunch and some groceries for the next few days.

We made it to Helena and for lunch we ate at the Windbag Saloon. The food was alright but the atmosphere was really cool. After lunch we stopped at Albertsons to get some groceries. and then were back on the road.

At my Uncle’s we got there just in time for some horse races. The theme for our reunion was Kentucky Derby.

Greg and Jayse wasted no time. They hoped right into some kayaks and went fishing. They didn’t get anything but had a nice time.
