This year for Jaelee’s out of state band competition they went to Utah. There was no school on Friday so the band left early Friday. Got to Utah and all set up and then they got to go to Boondocks with another band from Idaho.
Greg and I left Friday as well after we got off work. We got there about 8, checked into our hotel and then went to dinner together.
Saturday we went to Park City to watch the eclipse and then drove straight to the school to watch the competition. Jaelee’s group was in the large section. We got to watch all the bands in the large group, there were some really great ones!
Jaelee’s group had their props for the first time. The theme of their performance this year was Waterways. It is all around water so their props showed waves, a lot of their performance too had waves.
It was so cool seeing it with the props this time, like I’ve said before each time we get to see more as every practice they keep adding and tweaking.
We were able to stay for the awards and their band got 2nd in the large group!
Greg and I went to lunch with my mom after that and then headed home. The band stayed to watch the rest of the competition. They came home that night. I had to pick Jaelee up at 2:30 am at the school. She had a great time and loves band so much!
