I really like Teddy Swims (I think he’s a cross between Jelly Roll & Ed Sheeran) when I saw he was going on tour and he’d get as close as Salt Lake I bought a couple tickets. It was close to Greg and I’s anniversary and I thought it would be a fun weekend away for us. I didn’t even think about the time of year.

When I told Greg about it he was like nope, that’s hunting season. The weekend his friend Brady gets here. I asked a couple of people if they knew Teddy Swims and no one did. One day my brothers were over and I was listening to him and one said hey is this Teddy Swims? I was like yes and since you know you’re coming with me to see him.

Both my brothers knew him so I bought another ticket and we made it a sibling trip. We drove down to SLC Saturday morning. We got to our hotel, checked in and looked around for somewhere to eat dinner. I found a place that looked cool and wasn’t too far away.

We walked to it and they asked if we had a reservation…dang it we didn’t. They said we needed a reservation for the restaurant but they had seating in the basement in the speak easy. We thought that was fine so we had dinner in the speak easy. It was dark but pretty cool. The food was alright. I can tin can nachos.

After dinner we walked over to the venue for the concert.

It was pretty good. The woman that opened was alright – she had great voice just not my kind of music. Teddy Swims sounded awesome but I’m getting old and standing for an entire concert was not my favorite. I also couldn’t see very well. There was a woman with a bun on the top of her head and I couldn’t see much past her.

I did get some glimpses though and he played some of my favorite songs.

After the concert we headed back to our hotel, watched some TV and then passed out. We left first thing in the morning.

It was nice with my brothers – a lot of football and farts!
