November Little Things

Jaelee and I love to go to Christmas bazaars. We brought her boyfriend with us to the first one of the season. It was at her old middle school. They had some great stuff there and food. We got cake pops and found a European treat we got last year in Germany!

Jaelee was supposed to wait and watch Five Nights at Freddy’s with Keynan but she couldn’t wait and not only watched it without him but watched it 4 times! To make up for it she invited him over to watch it here. We put up the projector by the hot tub and they watched it from there.

I went to one of my camera club nights and they had a professor from BYU Idaho there who teaches photography. Her story was pretty fascinating in that she started as a graphic designer and had her own firm. She got into photography as a way to add another service to her clients and is all self taught. She ended up writing a book about graphic design and then taught as a professor at BYU on graphic design and photography. Now she has my dream job. Traveling around the world taking other photographers on group trips to take photos! I would love to go on one of her trips sometime.

She actually gave me a lot of great information and I was really inspired. Here are some pictures I took of some of the slides.

I had my eyes dilatated so they could look at them before my lasik surgery. They said it would last 4-6 hours. It lasted 3 days! I kept taking pictures of how long it was lasting.

I could not see up close with my glasses all the way on and my eyes dilated. If I held my glasses out I could see but I didn’t want to hold them so I stuck this paper on my nose so I could move my glasses down and not hold them. Fun times!

Had to get a rare picture of the kids together.

Surgery day! I was fortunate that on the day my surgery was scheduled the kids didn’t have school. Jayse drove me to and back from my appt. It was pretty quick, total it took about an hour. It was really weird. I am glad we got a happy pill. I’m not sure I could of relaxed enough. You can see them move over the flap in your eye and then laser it. You can smell it when they laser it back. There was some pressure on my eyes but not bad. Overall it was pretty quick and painless. I could see right away! The first time since like the 3rd grade I could see with my own eyes.

It was been awesome! I’m part of the I wish I had done this sooner club. I can’t tell you how nice it is to see as soon as you wake up, nice to see in the shower, nice not to have fogged up glasses or glasses with rain drops.

I had to sleep with googles on for the first week. Put in a lot of drops and wear sunglasses everywhere even in doors. My eyes were pretty sensitive to light. Pretty much all of that has cleared up now. I am loving it.
