I had read that at Poipu beach you are likely to see turtles and seals on the beach so I knew we had to go there. We decided to go there on Sunday, day 2. We were not disappointed. We saw a turtle right away. I thought it was fake at first but then we saw it move.

A further walk down the beach and we saw 3 monk seals! We had gone to the beach pretty early and quickly realized we were not prepared. We wanted to get in the water and didn’t bring our swimming suites. We decided to go back to our hotel and change.

On our way back we stopped at Walmart for a few more supplies, we got some snorkeling gear, towels, reef safe sunscreen and some treats.

When we got back to the beach it was much busier then earlier but not too bad. We got right in and decided to snorkel. Leora never had before it took her a minute to get used to the mask and breathing out of her mouth. Once she got it she was good. There was a reef you could swim around. It was hard, the waves kept pushing me back. It would of been easier with fins but we didn’t have any. We still got to see some cool fish.

Jaelee had the GoPro and got some good video. I tried to get video with my phone but couldn’t see my screen at all. I sometimes had the screen the wrong way and only got video of me and the rest of the time it was very blurry under the water and you couldn’t see anything. Also, for some reason my music kept turning on under the water. Every time I came up I had to turn it off.

We spent the whole day at the beach. We stopped at the Shops at Kukau’ula on the way home. Everything there was way expensive but very nice. There was an ice cream shop, Lappert’s we stopped at for a treat. We found another little row of shops in Koloa on our way back to the hotel. We stopped there as well and did a bit of shopping. We smelt a really yummy pizza place but had just had pizza 2 nights in a row so we decided to go somewhere else.

Back at our hotel we couldn’t decide where to eat. We drove back to Kapa’a and couldn’t find anything so we ended up at McDonalds – of course.

It was another great day!
