On Tuesday we had a planned event to go on a river trip to a grotto in the afternoon. Before that we drove up to a waterfall. I thought we’d be able to get to the base of it and possibly swim but it’s all blocked off. The best we could do was view it.

Since the waterfall didn’t take us long we went back to the beach by our hotel, the girls snorkeled, collected shells and played in the sand. I sat on the beach and read. It was nice.

We went on the grotto tour in the afternoon. It was a 2 mile journey up river to the grotto. The ride up and grotto was beautiful. However, if I had to do it again I’d just rent a kayak and paddle up the river myself and spend as much time as I wanted at the grotto. We were with such a large group they just shuttle you to the grotto tell you a bit about it, sang a song and then it was back on the boat. I think it was only 30 mins. I’d also bring bug spray, we gotten eaten alive by mosquitos.

After our grotto trip we went back to Poipu beach. We saw even more turtles this time and a couple more monk seals.

We decided to go back to the pizza place we’d seen a few days prior for dinner. I ordered a side of shrimp, we got some fries that were really good a devoured a pizza.

Even up here, chickens. This group got pretty close to us so I had to get pics.

The beach by our hotel was nice, it had these rocks that blocked the waves. In this little pool it was so much easier to swim around.

I did not even realize all the black spots on this log were crabs until I was editing these photos later.

On the boat up to the grotto they sang us Hawaiian songs, that was nice.

They taught us how to hula on the boat on the way back.
