On Friday we drove back up to the North Shore and wen to the Makauwahi Cave Reserve. It’s a huge cave just off the road.
In the parking lot there was a man selling fresh coconuts. We’d been looking for one so Leora could try one. Jaelee’s tried one before in Mexico…..although that was a bit different, it was fancier and they added stuff.
You can see in the pictures of their reaction they were not huge fans of the raw coconut.
The cave was pretty cool but it doesn’t take long to explore.
After the cave we went to the beach. I’d read that this beach was a good one for finding shells. We did find a good amount of shells. We didn’t really think things through and left our waters in the car so by the time we walked out we were all thirsty. We toughed it out for a bit and hung out at the beach. I think it’s called Tunnels beach.
Leora carried the coconut all along the beach and when we finally set it down it was a bird magnet. I was happily taking pictures of them. After hanging out at the beach we decided to leave to go get lunch. Jaelee really wanted subway. We found one and drove to it, sadly it was closed for remodeling. We ended up just going to Safeway and getting sandwiches there. We found another place to shop and get the last of our souvenirs.
We made our way back to our hotel for a chill afternoon.
That night for dinner I went to the bar and had a burger. The girls just wanted to hangout in the room and hand cup of noodles.
