This was our first day where we were going to Port. Our first stop was Ketchikan.
Jayse couldn’t sleep so he wandered up to the top of the boat at 2 am and again at 4 am and got these beautiful photos and video.

We didn’t have anything pre planned for Ketchikan. We were only there until 2 pm. One of the big excursions there is a lumberman show. Greg didn’t think we needed to go to that and wanted to explore the town instead.
The previous day at the presentation from the naturalist she gave some highlights of Ketchikan so I knew I wanted to go to Creek Street. It was the red light district back in the day and is now shops, restaurants and galleries.
We all got up, had some breakfast and then headed out to explore. We did some shopping, got new hats and then headed to Creek Street.

We thought Jayse’s hair looked like Lloyd’s from Dumb and Dumber

There was a seal swimming around down there. You can spy his little head in the water.

There are totems all over the town, this one was so tall.

We did some more shopping, I made Jaelee take a picture with this bear.

Another bear another photo opp.

After shopping we still had some time and saw a sign for a trolley tour of the town. We thought this would be an easy way to see the town and learn the history. Boy did we!
Our guide was a character. She was a local and she said it herself that she lived in a trailer. We called her the trailer park guide when we talked about this afterwards. As we went through the are right by the port she said over the mic. See right here this is only here because of you people buying this stuff. That store over there with the sale sign, that item was on sale last year, yesterday and will be on sale next year – that is the price.
We sped through town as she quickly told us some history. We flew by a 300 year old tree that we could barely see, let alone get any pictures of.
We stopped at a creek where salmon run. There was a chance to see bears. We saw a lot of signs of bear but didn’t see any. We did however, see a lot of eagles.

We had to walk a bit to get to the eagles. Some of the older people on the tour didn’t seem thrilled with that. I even heard one of them say to their spouse that they didn’t want to walk back but didn’t want to piss off the tour guide by asking her to bring the trolley closer so they were just going to walk. LOL

This is Alaska’s state flower the Forget-me-not

Our guide took us on property that was marked private but she must of known the people…she picked us some salmon berries and wild blue berries to eat. We saw more bear signs but no bears. We did see a seal out in the water. We then got back on the trolley and headed to the totem park. Again, it was a quick tour. She didn’t even stop for us to get a single picture or really look. She sped through there giving us quick details.

We went up to the creek to see the salmon ladder. She told us that there would be no salmon because it was too early and thought we should skip this part of the tour but her boss told her she had to so there we were.

It was an interesting tour for sure! We were all pretty hungry afterwards. We thought about eating in Ketchikan but decided for ease to just go back on the boat and eat lunch there.
It was a beautiful day so after lunch LaRee and I put on our swimming suites and laid out on the back of the ship. Greg and Steve played shuffleboard and the kids retreated to the room.

I went to another presentation from the naturalist about the plants, flowers and birds in Alaska.

Later Greg and I went and got some drinks and hung out on the deck. He was sitting at the bar talking with a guy. I looked back to see him and saw a butt crack from the guy next to him. I had to get a selfie with it, hahaha.

We went to another show that night – can’t remember which one it was. Might of been the hypnotist.
