We got to go to the coast for our nephew Lucius’ grad party. We went early the day before so we could go to the beach. Jaelee’s boyfriend Keynan had never seen the ocean so we brought him with.
We left Thursday after we got off work. We drove half way to Hermiston and stayed in a hotel for the night. We got a suite so Greg and I had our own little room. We were all pretty tired and went to bed about 10:30. At midnight the fire alarms went off. This has happened before when we were in a hotel and eventually they just go off and we went back to bed. Not this time. The alarms did not go off so we decided it might be for real and we should go out. A fire truck did come, they checked everything, got the fire alarms off and cleared it. We were able to go back to our rooms after about 30 mins.
Woke up, Jayse was crooked in the bed, leaving Jaelee little room.
We left Friday to drive the rest of the way, the kids were all tired. Look at how they were all sleeping.
We made it to Scotts, stopping briefly before we went to the coast.
We went to Astoria. We stopped at an area where you could see a lot of sea lions.
That is a huge sea lion!
We ate lunch at Moe’s in Astoria.
We drove across this long bridge and into Washington to go to Long Beach.
It was fun watching Keynan see the ocean for the first time. Him and Jaelee ran right into the water and played in the water and sand for hours.
Jayse had his own fun in the sand and decided to draw a large…..ummm, man part.
I told Greg I always wanted to do the beach picture with a heart in the sand. I described it to him and then went back to taking pictures. I looked back and he was digging in the sand, making the heart. He even put is phone in it to make sure it worked. As we were getting ready to go we all looked into the heart with my phone and snagged a couple of pictures. I love them!
We stopped at Marsh’s Free Museum. It’s a shop full of all kinds of oddities and lots of tourist trinkets. We got Jaelee some sweatpants since she was soaking wet and a couple of towels. It was a fun interesting place.
We got some elephant ear bites and ice cream and then headed back to Scotts.
